Rumorville: For weeks now, rumors have been swirling about the possibility of one or more Quartermaines returning (beyond Monica).  On Tuesday's episode, Eddie Q. and Carly did some name dropping regarding Edward's potential heirs beyond Michael. Predictably, Dillon and Ned were mentioned, but it was the last person mentioned (and whether he had any offspring) that should have us all sitting up and taking notice...Jimmy Lee Holt.

Jimmy Lee,
played by Steve Bond. was another illegitimate son of...

Leslie Charleson tweeted the following this weekend:

"You may have heard from some of my cast mates that I was contacted by GH regarding my "availability". That's true, however, the reason you haven't heard anything about it directly from me is that I wanted to make sure that "Monica" was going to have scenes worth talking about before saying anything to you.  With Guza gone, I'm hopeful and will keep you posted as soon as I know anything worth sharing."

Posted by ghhshirley on Saturday, May 21, 2011
Lending further credence to what we have heard about Katie Couric being headed for Oprah's syndicated affiliate slot, as opposed to General Hospital's time slot, the LA Times reports that, Disney Chief Executive Robert A. Iger has been "very involved" in the deal and has been particularly interested in bringing Couric to ABC, in part, to fill the programming void that will be created by the departure of the queen of daytime TV, Oprah Winfrey. GH: Guza's Reaction

Posted by ghhshirley on Friday, May 20, 2011 In : General Hospital Rumors
Rumorville:  Word is that it was General Hospital's Executive Producer, Jill Farren Phelps, rather that ABC Daytime head Brian Frons, who was the bearer of the bad news to Guza.  Supposedly, Guza stormed out of the ABC offices right then and there.  This may be where the, "effective immediately", came from in the ABC press release regarding the change in head writers, as well as the lack of public thank you's for Guza's contributions to the show.
